textiles + architecture = true love
I tried to sew a model last semester, as a way to explore pressure in materials. It didn't quite work out, but man oh man, does this artist ever inspire me to push this medium even further. A couple of weeks ago a classmate saw my sewing machine on my desk and called me the Martha Stewart of architecture. I LOVED it. It could also be because last year I made the base of a model out of cake (it was an underground interpretive center and tunnel, so I needed to show the layers of the earth somehow... chocolate, vanilla and lemon!) Anyways, this chick rocks it out. Enjoy. http://www.emiliefaif.com/
P.S. I'm sure there's a way to merge fashion, visual art and architecture.
P.P.S. I wish I was an artist living in Paris. Sigh.
