she's back

Oh hello.I'm back.It's been a while.

My blog is about to change. I used to use my blog like a pin board - it was my pinterest before Pinterest existed. That being said, my plan is to post my own work. I need to figure out how to make it look a little less "bloggy, but that'll come with time.

I've also recently purchased my first iphone. It's an iPhone 4s. It's become my newest passion if that's possible. I honestly can't picture my life without it, and if I forget to bring it, I feel naked and lost. I used to lose my old cell phone for days without really caring. It was a bitch to text on, and I pretty much always had my laptop. I digress. My photography hobby has really been given new life with the help of some great filters and apps. Most of these are simply instagram filters, although I use frametastic, sometimes snapseed and I just started using hipstmatic. I'm super behind the times, I am fully aware.

Being able to take great photos everywhere rocks my world. It feeds my driving inner force to create art. I love capturing the details of a place that make it special. I also love how democratic the iphone has made photography. For so long digital cameras (point and shoot) and cell phone cameras were of useless quality, and good cameras were reserved for serious photographers. I know, as an artist, it's super important to have a good camera. I was fortunate to receive an olympus slr from my husband, who handed it down to me from his mother when she handed him down a nikon D200. Both of those cameras are MASSIVE, however, and definitely do not live in my pocket.

my engagement ring. He had it designed by Bernard at Calgary Jewellery. This was just after I got it back from the jeweller replaceing the stone, that had fallen out and I had LOST at the Ship. Luckily, and freakishly, i found it, 24 hours later in a corner of my apron. LUCKY. I love it.
