Ta-rae Lamps by Design Virus
“Ta-rae” is a word in Korean that represents bunched up and lumped threads or strings. By taking the “ta-rae” as a motif for its design, the “Ta-rae” Lighting is composed of ten “Seoul colours” and with Korea’s own traditional colours carries that eastern feel. Turning on the light when pulled, the on-and-off switch for “Ta-rae” Lighting is made of thimble.
I had decided to take the weekend off of blogging, mostly because I underestimated the amount of time it actually takes to find something I deem worthy of posting, however, I was checking out one of my favourite sites (CONTEMPORIST) and I came across this gem of a lighting design. It appeals to my love of crafts & clever lighting design. I also love the idea of repurposing and recycling. Good on ya. They also have quite a cute site (and it's in Korean & English) @ Design Virus.
