tool box
I was away over the weekend, so, technically I should make up for a couple of missing entries, however, today, I'm going to stick to one and make it up later.
I chose the post du jour strictly on eye appeal. This house instantly reminded me of my red toolbox. I remember in my second year of college carrying my drawing supplies in a red toolbox, I LOVED it. I'd have to go to a business law class directly after drawing and the other students were always asking me why I carried a toolbox. I needed my tools! It just so happened that my tools were pencils, conte & charcoal.
This house has that same utilitarian feel. The house is one singular massing block shaped something like a stylized barn house with the garage cut out. I love that car park that doubles as a front patio and canopied front entrance way. One of my first thoughts was also that this was the IKEA version of Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye. It is just missing the piloti, but it includes a rooftop terrace.
